GLOBAL ART MAGAZINE ABOUT CHINA WEEK
Pashmin Art Gallery Hamburg/Shanghai celebrated the opening of its “China Week” last Saturday. The gallery shows for the first time selected works of Chinese artists next to European artists’ positions. The exhibition “China Week” contributes to the cultural exchange between Germany and China and the cultural encounters within Hamburg and wants to set a sign for global artistic networking. As part of this opening, students from the German-Chinese school (modern school Hamburg) performed a Chinese choral song. The following are the exhibiting artists: Winnie Wing Hungenbach, née Tong Wing, was born in Shanghai and grew up in Hong Kong. There, after successfully completing her fashion design studies, she also developed her artistic ambitions and devoted herself increasingly to free painting. Since 2000 she lives and works in Germany. Where, influenced by European art and culture, she develops a variety of new ideas. At the same time she refined her painting technique and completed several art courses in China. Her works unite in a unique way not only the influences of Chinese and European culture but also her painting techniques. Mystery, Dreamscape, Passion, Naturality and Philosophy are the themes of her painting and always the starting point for the content of the scenery. Most of her paintings therefore tell a story and evoke a very special mood in the viewer.
