Michael Hitschold was born in Chemnitz in 1970 and grew up in Coburg from 1985. After his training in the field of metal design in Dresden and Berlin, with periods at the “Academy of the Arts” in Berlin, he undertook study trips to Italy, Spain, South Africa, Namibia, and North and South America.
He was employed for a longer term in the field of metal design in Dresden, Cape Town, Berlin, and Los Angeles, until he settled in the Altmark/Saxony-Anhalt in 2001. Since the beginning of 2019, Michael Hitschold has been living in Alt Karin/Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Michael Hitschold is a member of the Artists’ Association of Mecklenburg and Vorpommern e.V. in the BBK.
