Dr. Peter Schütt (art critic) about the Artist Beate Axmann | Pashmin Art Gallery Hamburg | 11.07.21
is the title of the solo exhibition from
July 11 – August 13, 2021
Beate Axmann’s works can be described as expressive and figurative, sometimes even as expressive-abstract. Contrasts and encounters determine her pictures.
In her series “Black Forest Peace Symphony”, tradition, homeland and cliché meet in a modern and cosmopolitan diversity in terms of both content and artistic engagement.
Open-mindedness, diversity and open borders are opposed to opposing reactions and tendencies: fears, xenophobia, populism, demarcation and brutalization of language and behavior.
In her current work from the series “Perspective. Crazy “the artist reacts to these social changes with her very own expressive visual language!
Beate Axmann takes part in various national and international group and solo exhibitions as well as art symposia. In addition, her performance projects are created with different artists and musicians. In addition to her paintings, paper-and-wire figures, called “Papidrafi”, can also be found among Axmann’s works. These open, networked installations stimulate the viewer’s imagination with playful ease.
