Ahmet Günestekin

Since his childhood art has been a burning interest, a passion for him. While only 9 he won his first small artprize and since then this love has not abandoned him – he paints and paints, he creates and creates. Ahmet Günestekin is the one who manages to synthesize the Western art and Eastern symbolism more fashionably in a quite special way. Some of his works will no longer appear to be bearable in two-dimensionality. One would have to call them probably “Sculptopainting”: here is an explosive, a striving creativity which creates its own rules in an anarchism of the traditional painting; pure autodidactism.

The swing, the line, the curve, the circle, these are modern forms and movements which enter into a connection with Günestekin alongside the rooster, the moon, the horse, the sun, the fish or the people. These two forms are repeatably seen in his works. This connection goes over in a new dimension and strives outwardly. It seems that these pictures are paintings but having too much strength defies the notion. In terms of the colors the works are rather simple at first sight, but this simplicity is accompanied by more than one color shade and more nuances.

Thus we find from time to time other colors or even the cuttings in a work, but they are not merely there as things taken apart; however, they seem to complement it only. Without fail one is reminded of the cubism, but the simple classification resembles aesthetic blasphemy. We have it with something new, a true cooperating creation. You  can also find an element of strong symmetry over and over again. Thus you can say: here is art, it is complete in itself; the art which overcomes.
