We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition of the Swiss artist Julius Voegtli at Pashmin Art Gallery Hamburg. Julius Voegtli (1879 – 1944) was a pioneer of Swiss Impressionism and his works include impressive landscapes, still lifes, portraits and caricatures. The exhibition offers a deep insight into the work of this extraordinary artist.
His works, which are characterized by bright colors and free brushstrokes, were shaped by the influence of great artists such as Kandinsky, de Chirico and Klee. Voegtli studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was also active in local politics in Biel.
Highlights of the exhibition:
- Presentation and book signing of the comprehensive book on Julius Voegtli, published in German, English and Chinese.
- Exhibition of works from the private collection of Hans Vögtli, the artist’s grandson.
Opening speeches by Dr. Peter Schütt and Dr. Davood Khazaie as well as a moderation by Madlen Reichenbach will accompany the vernissage.
We look forward to your visit and to rediscovering the works of an important artist together!
