Horst Wagner

Horst Wagner was born in 1959 and studied during 1986-1987 at the special school Painting – Graphic in Rudolstadt. In 1991-1996 he received an artistic education from KulturAXE Wien and in 1996 he was admitted to the Federal Association of Visual Artists. In a globalized world, with its impact on people with disorientation, alienation, and loss of identity, Horst Wagner, in his artistic work, talks about self-reflection, about human being’s engagement with himself and his environment. These questions about the meaning of human activity and human existence determine Horst Wagner’s work. He also sees his work as an odyssey of human life with all its fallacies which seem to be necessary to arrive at himself at a time of social coldness, uprooting, and meaninglessness.
